This was a great weekend. The highlight included some perfect back-country touring in my backyard, the Wasatch Mountains. Saturday morning Chaz, Ryan, Mindy and I did a “gem” of a tour, starting in Butler Fork and ending at Porter Fork in Millcreek Canyon (see map below), for about 6.5 miles and 2700′ of gain and 4000′ of loss. It was a blue-bird day and the views in Mill A Basin were incredible. We were a bit hesitant coming off the north side of Raymond on the Glades, but were very cautious. It was certainly the best skiing of 2009!
